A company of 5 or more employees must have access to competent Health & Safety advice and proof of the source's competence, whether it is an internal member of staff or an external consultant/consultancy. A company of less than 5 employees may not have as many responsibilities, but will need to keep up to date with legislation, as it is still legally responsible for its employees.
